Eating out can be an expensive affair, but sometimes you just don’t feel like cooking. Work lunches and meet ups with old mates can turn into penny pinching awkwardness when the bill comes back sky high. Luckily, Yorkshire is a fruitful land of lavish lunches for around a fiver. Look no further and dig no deeper, here are some thrifty Yorkshire lunch choices:
Pieminister – Leeds
For all our Leeds ladies and lads, Pieminister is a great lunch spot to hit up for a traditional English pie. At £5.50 a pie, you can choose from their ‘Classics’ range and fill your hungry belly. On the deal, you’ll find pies such as The Matador, a beef, steak and chorizo pie, stuffed with onions and beans. For veggies, enjoy the Heidi, with goat’s cheese, sweet potato, and spinach.
Rivelin Hotel – Sheffield
Though it sounds a little posh, you’ll find an unbelievable lunch deal at Rivelin Hotel. With two meals for a fiver, you can dine out as a couple for as little as £2.50 each! Take your pick from their vast lunch menu, including the county’s favourite: Giant Yorkshire Puddings. You can also tuck into generous quarter pounder burgers, pasta dishes, scampi, quiche.
Toto’s – York
If you’re looking for a late lunch, Toto’s can really put a mile on your face with its happy hour deal. From 5pm-7pm, Toto’s really backs up with orders as they charge a tiny £3.95 for any pizza or pasta dish. With a deal like that, you’ll find queues down the street.
Weeton’s – Harrogate
Now, Harrogate isn’t known for being cheap. While you can find some bargains with a real hard look, it’s a little more difficult than other towns in Yorkshire. Despite this, you can pick up lunch for around a fiver in Weeton’s, especially if you’re looking for something light. For £4.95 you can enjoy the Soup of the Day with bread. Now if you really wanted to splash out, you open up your range of dishes to Yorkshire Rarebit and Cold Sandwiches, for just £6.95.
