Chris Madeley is the author of the increasingly successful children’s book series ‘The Cones’.
For as long as she can remember, Chris has always enjoyed reading and writing. Chris manages to encourage reading and promote living and playing morally by using her own religious beliefs, ethical beliefs, morals and her unique skill for storytelling within her children’s book series.
Growing up in Adel, Leeds, Chris and her family didn’t have a TV. Therefore, she has always been well practiced in creating her own forms of entertainment. With a wide and detailed imagination and a preference for her own company, Chris went on to immerse herself in the world of make-believe and fantasy.
Throughout her school life, Chris developed a great passion and respect for the written word. In turn, reading and writing always remained right at the top of her favourite pass-times list.
It is hardly surprising that her passion for reading and writing took Chris into working with English. Leading her to some very interesting Executive P.A. positions in several major well-known companies.
After a career break to have her family, Chris went back to work part-time. After some training, she had a change up in disciplines to work as an Independent Financial Adviser. It was during this period of time that the inspiration for writing The Cones really began.
Chris spent many long hours on the M1 with her husband Keith travelling from their main office in Bradford to their company’s branch office in Hertfordshire. It was during these tedious hours in traffic that they found themselves noticing endless cones. Thus, the ‘conecept’ of ‘The Cones’ coming alive and having adventures was set in stone.
