Yorkshire’s Best 5 Places to Live

We know Yorkshire is not short of places to live. With it being God’s own County we usually have many people wanting to move into the best place to live in Britain. So, we are here for you, so I have 8 of the best places to live in Yorkshire. Just for you…

1. Peteley Bridge

Pateley Bridge is a small town in Nidderdale, near Harrogate. It’s a very rural area near one of the best views in Yorkshire, Brimham Rocks and several beautiful walking routes  passing through. There are also a few leisure centres, some brilliant rustic/traditional pubs, a thriving high street, artist studios. Pateley Bridge is also hope to England’s Oldest Sweet Shop, opened in 1827.

2. Horsforth

Horsforth is now a suburb of West Leeds and once was a rural township. Additionally, the stone used to build Kirkstall Abbey was quarried here. Horsforth has a railway station and excellent access to Leeds Bradford Airport, with other great transport links. Horsforth is home to many brilliant schools, plenty of bars and restaurants, the attractive Horsforth Hall Park and several sports clubs. Moreover, it has such easy access to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Wharfe Valley.

3. Richmond

Richmond is an attractive town close to the Dales and famed for its romantic beauty. It has a Norman Castle, the attractive Richmond Falls. Richmond is also home to one of England’s largest cobbled market square – but no railway station.

4. Saltburn

Saltburn is surprisingly the only coastal town to make the list but Saltburn was historically in the North Riding nut is now considered part of Cleveland. This attractive seaside resort is home to the Italian Gardens, the Cliff Lift and Yorkshire’s only pleasure pier. Additionally, they also have a miniature railway and a thriving surf scene.

5. Helmsley

The Ryedale market town has great access to the Cleveland Way and the North York Moors National Park, a foodie culture, an open-air swimming pool and a castle. Moreover, if that’s not enough, there’s also a large arts centre and the Helmsley Walled Garden.
